The impact of covid-19 on the life of Rava from Indonesia
Since December 2019, the world has been shocked by the discovery of a new virus in China. The virus is known as the corona virus. This virus quickly infected many people and caused death in China. Many are just infected and then recovered. But this virus is like moving from place to place, spreading from one country to another.
Until finally this epidemic arrived in Indonesia in early March 2020. Although the spread seems slow, this has caused anxiety throughout Indonesia. The experience gained from following the news has made masks and hand sanitizers scarce.
Likewise with my school, I have to learn from home. The first week of studying online was fun but after a few months I had a hard time accepting lessons online because it was so different from face-to-face learning. I was really sad that I couldn’t get to know my new friend in a new school.
I sincerely hope that the COVID-19 problem will find an end soon.
I was sad when I saw the news on television that many people were infected, even died.
I am sad to hear my mother’s story that the price of daily necessities is rising and scarce.
Likewise with my family my father had to lose his job because no guest from a foreign country could enter Indonesia. Now my mother has to trade or sell food to meet the needs of our family. My mother and my father and my brother are forced to open food stalls to earn a day’s living.
It feels heavy, almost 9 months, our life is very difficult, I can only hope and pray that this ordeal will quickly pass and I can live back to normal as before the Covid 19 pandemic, my dad can go back to work and we can live normally.
Thank you to Mr. Stefan and Ms. Brigitte and family and Jack, Therese, Board StandUp4Talent who have helped our family. I hope all of us will always be given health and always in the protection of God, Aamiin … (make my wish becomes true)
