Activities Malawi

On request of foundation Mirjam in Malawi, we supported 2 talented young men who are studying at the Catholic University of Malawi in Limbe. This foundation supports people in Malawi, Bembeke region. They realize small-scale projects in all kinds of fields, including support for secondary education for disadvantaged children. To sponsor further education for successful students, they call on other organisations such as StandUp4Talent.
During the advanced education they will continue to act as alocal contact for the students on behalf of StandUp4Talent.

Yamikani (1994) has been an orphan since the age of 2 and was raised by his grandmother.

After finishing secondary school, he started studying Bachelor of Arts in Education (Majoring Linguistic) at the Catholic University of Malawi in Limbe thanks to the support of StandUp4Talent.

He graduated in September 2022. The poor economic situation in Malawi made it very difficult to find a job. To increase his chances in to find a job, he started working as an English teacher at his old school on a voluntary, so unpaid, basis.

In early 2024, his efforts were rewarded! He was officially employed as a teacher by the Ministry of Education!

After graduation, he decided to attend an additional study in Leadership and Ministry (Theology) on his own initiative. He graduated for this study in November 2022.
