Activities South Africa
In 2015 we sponsored 2 students from Hlabisa with a one-time support for the entrance fee for their study at Mangosuthu University of Technology in Durban. Afterwards, they were able to continue their studies with support from the government.
Nduduzo (1997) studied Accounting.
Silindile (1996) graduated in Building Construction Management and Quantity Surveying in June 2019.
From 2017 to 2022, we supported 1 student from this region in his studies at Destiny Life Academy in Umhlali (secondary school). He has chosen not to publish his name on our website. We will, of course, respect his choice.
Our contact person in this area is Rodney Hlatschwayo. Together with a local organization, VUKUKHANYE RURAL DEVELOPMENT TRUST, Rodney commits to more opportunities for the youth in his residential area Hlabisa, located close to Umfolozi Wilderness Park.
There is great poverty in this area and a high percentage of orphans due to HIV / AIDS. In addition to combating unemployment, HIV / AIDS, and the high number of pregnancies, they seek funds to provide young people from their residential area to allow them into university.
Of the 500 young people annually graduating high school, only 10 percent goes to University.
