We started sponsoring students as part of a Peace for People project of Santhos Bidari in July 2022.
We met Santhos during the MasterPeaceWalk Nepal 2018 and were very impressed by his enormous commitment to improve the lives of children in his community. By his non-profit organisations Peace for People and MasterPeace Nepal, all kinds of projects are being initiated to enable education for the poor people of his region. In order to improve the long-term position of the entire population of the region, thanks to a higher level of children’s education.

There is a huge shortage of well-trained teachers in Nepal. Many young people are choosing studies that they expect to be able to build a better future abroad.
Peace for People has selected 25 motivated young people, and offered them a 4-year Bachelor of Education at the Shree Simle Mahakali Multiple College in Dhading.
This way, they hope to train highly qualified, motivated and dedicated teachers who, after completing their studies, are willing to contribute on improving the educational level of young people in their communities and motivate them to choose to become a teacher as well.
Since July 2022, StandUp4Talent has been supporting 2 students, Kabita and Srijana, for the Bachelor of Education project. We are also sponsoring 3 more students, Pratima, Salina and Deepa, nominated by Peace for People.
Kabita (2000) was motivated to choose a Bachelor of Education by a temporary job in a primary school
Kabita is very active in her community by participating in cultural projects that call attention to poverty, caste discrimination, gender inequality and girls/women trafficking.
After her studies, she wants to work as a teacher to improve education and to reform social irregularities.
Srijana (2003) has always loved children and children love her. So it was a very natural choice for her to apply for the Bachelor of Education.
Her motivation: A teacher has the power to change children’s lives in a positive way. She would like to serve her community in the future as a well-educated teacher with her knowledge and skills.
Furthermore, she is very interested in physical activities and sports. She hopes that she will be able to give lessons in sports as well.
Pratima (2003) is attending a bachelor’s program in Business Management at Shanker Dev Campus, Tribhuvan University, Putalisadak, Kathmandu. She is performing very well. After her second year payment of the tuition fees was not possible anymore for her family. We agreed to sponsor the remaining 2 years of the study of this smart and talented lady.
Thanks to extra activities as captain of her football and futsal team, Chief College Representative and Counsellor, Pratima developed her leadership and teamwork skills. She is determined to use her education and skills to make a positive impact on her community.
After finishing high school with very good grades Salina (2006) wanted to continue her education and applied for the bachelor’s program Business Administration at Morgan International College, Kathmandu.
But unfortunately It was not possible to enrol this study due to financial issues. In January 2024, thanks to our sponsorship, Salina was able to start her studies.
After completing her studies Salina wants to work in a bank or the public sector and she wants use her knowledge to contribute to wellbeing of her country.
Deepa (2001) is a talented young lady who started her study Bachelor Arts and Social Work at Premier college Baneshwor, Kathmandu, in 2023. She also works as a volunteer (Social Work Coordinator) for Peace for People.
She is motivated to use her talents and dedication to contribute to society’s improvement and to create a positive impact in her local community by empowering the youths.
Her study is a significant financial burden for her family. We started sponsoring Deepa in January 2024.
